Inauguration of the Nusrat Djahan Mosque, Copenhagen 1967
The Mosque, named Nusrat Djahan Mosque; was built in the suburb Hvidovre, a suburb to Copenhagen in Denmark by funds colleted by Lajnah in Pakistan.
The inauguration took place the 21st of July 1967 in the presence of hadhrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad, Khalifatul-Masih III and many others.
Originally the dome was covered with Italian turquoise blue mosaic. Later, when it brook and the roof started leaking, it was replaced by a roof made by copper, which ultimately would turn green.
The Danish Muslim architect was Mr. Zachariassen.
I was not present at this occasion, but I have a short film giving some glimpses of the inauguration event.
